
Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum
The Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is the most popular museum in Glasgow and it is the most popular free attraction in Scotland. The museum has been around since 1901 and its collections came from the Industrial Museum and McLellan Galleries.
The museum was recently refurbished and was closed for a total of 3 years while this refurbishment took place, the total cost of this came to over £28 million. The work included the building of a restaurant and extension work to house the now 8,000 exhibits on display in the museum.
The museum has three floors which offers plenty of exhibits to see, the first floor includes Dutch and Italian Art, Glasgow and the World and a history discovery centre. The second floors main highlights are Ancient Egypt and Scottish Art. The lower floor has the restaurant and an Exhibition Gallery.
Opening Hours: Monday to Thursday and Saturday 10am to 5pm, Friday and Sunday 11am to 5pm.
